Home » Family Representative Application
The Geauga Family First Council is dedicated to supporting and strengthening families in our community. We work together to make sure children and families have access to caring, family-centered, and community-based services.
Councils are required to have at least 3 family representatives who are not employed by an agency and whose children are receiving or have received services from an agency represented on the Council. As openings occur, prospective applicants will be presented to Council at a regularly scheduled meeting for approval. Candidates are selected to ensure balanced representation.
As a Family Representative, you would play an important role in shaping programs and services that directly impact children and families in Geauga County. Your voice can help identify needs, break down barriers, and create meaningful solutions through prevention, early intervention, and supportive resources.
Responsibilities: regularly attend Council meetings to give insights and perspectives unique to families.
Meetings: Council meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 pm, unless it is a federal holiday (then we meet on the fourth Monday). Meetings are held at the Geauga County Office Building, 12611 Ravenwood Drive, Room B168, Chardon, OH 44024.
Families are seen as equal partners and are considered a critical part of Council. If you’re passionate about helping families thrive and want to make a difference in Geauga County, we encourage you to apply!
If you have any questions, please contact Tim Kehres, Council Coordinator, at (440) 285-1201 or Tim.Kehres@jfs.ohio.gov.
