Alcohol Charges Against Geauga Count Minors

In the spring of 2006, Partnerships for Success, an initiative of Geauga Family First Council, mailed thousands of these eye-opening postcards focused on motivating Geauga County parents of middle schoolers to address the serious and pervasive issue of underage drinking. In addition to shocking pictures, the postcards provided local statistics and relevant information to help educate parents as to how they can positively impact the risk to their own children.

The first of six postcards were mailed in late January to 4,500 parents of 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Geauga County. Statistics on the reverse side of the postcards showed that an alarming number of children in our community are participating in illegal alcohol use and that alcohol-related car crashes of underage drivers in Geauga County have increased dramatically.
